Information about visitors

CheckTrucking does not require an account. Our hosting and content delivery providers (including Cloudflare) process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested to deliver and protect the site.

Server logs

Our server keeps access logs to operate the site and protect it from abuse: IP address, browser user agent, page requested, response status and time. Logs are rotated daily and deleted after 14 days. To limit automated abuse, search requests are counted per IP address in memory for one minute; these counts are not stored.

Correction and removal requests

If you use the request form, we store what you send (name, email address, the USDOT number and your message) so we can handle the request, and a one-way hash of your IP address to limit abuse. We use it only for that purpose and delete it within 12 months after the request is closed, except for the USDOT number on our removal list, which we keep so the page stays removed.

Contact check

When you use the contact check, the phone number or email you enter is compared with the company’s record and then discarded; we do not store it or write it to our logs.

Advertising and cookies

We plan to show ads through Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings and learn more athow Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before such cookies are used.

Information about companies

Company pages show public records published by FMCSA, including the business phone number a company registered with FMCSA. We do not store or show email addresses, company officers’ names, or cell phone and fax numbers; we keep only a one-way keyed hash of the registered email and phone so the contact check can compare them. For companies that appear to be owned by an individual, we show only the city and state — not the street address or phone number — and their names are not shown in daily lists. Anyone can ask us to correct or remove a page; see corrections and removal requests. Requests covered by New Jersey’s Daniel’s Law are handled within 10 business days.

Children

CheckTrucking is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, for example in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
