Data sources
All data comes from datasets that FMCSA publishes on data.transportation.gov. They are public records of the U.S. government.
Company Census File
Registration (Form MCS-150) details: legal and DBA name, USDOT status, operating authority docket status, location, fleet, drivers, cargo and safety rating. Refreshed daily. Last update: November 7, 2026.
Licensing and insurance
Operating authority, insurance and bond filings, process agents (BOC-3) and authority history. FMCSA moved these records to a new system (Motus) in May 2026; the new datasets are updated daily but do not yet cover every company. Last update: November 8, 2026. For history, we also use FMCSA’s legacy licensing datasets, which stopped updating in May 2026. Each page says which source it uses.
Out-of-service orders
Out-of-service orders FMCSA has issued since 1995, with reasons and rescind dates. Refreshed daily. Last update: November 8, 2026.
Inspections and crashes
Roadside inspections, violations and reportable crashes. FMCSA’s inspection file covers about the last three years; we keep records after they leave that window. Company pages summarize the last 24 months.
How we use the data
- Text on company pages is built only from these records; we add no opinions.
- Every section shows its source and date.
- Email addresses, officers’ names, cell and fax numbers are not shown. The business phone number is shown for companies, not for individually owned businesses. The contact check compares a phone or email with keyed hashes, never the stored values.
- Records that FMCSA marked as administrative adjustments during its 2026 system migration are not shown as suspensions or revocations.
- Out-of-service rates are our calculations from inspection records and are not FMCSA scores. We do not show FMCSA SMS percentiles or alerts.
